United Westside Coalition

Our Story:

In the fall of 2015, Pastor Nancy formed the United Westside Coalition in response to the Westland Area Commission's desire to bring community leaders together to discern the preferred future of the Westside and to work together to help revitalize the community.

On March 28, 2016 the coalition launched its first community initiative: Heroin Prevention and Education. A community leaders symposium on the heroin epidemic was held on the Hilltop in partnership with Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine's Office and Franklin County Coroner Dr. Anahi Ortiz. The coalition later hosted a town hall meeting for the general public on September 29 at Franklin Heights High School. In partnership with the Franklin County Opiate Action Plan, the UWC offers heroin prevention and education presentations to organizations on the Westside.

The coalition includes representatives from the Westland Area Commission, Greater Hilltop Area Commission, Westland Area Business Association, Hilltop Business Association, Prairie Township Trustees, Franklin Township Trustees, Lincoln Village Residents Association, South-Western City School District, Prairie Township CIC, Westland Area Library, St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Friends of the Hilltop, Homes on the Hill, Greater Hilltop Area Shalom Zone, and Friends of Camp Chase Trail.  For updates on UWC news, meetings and events, please follow their Facebook page: United Westside Coalition.
